2006 G35x,CEL,loss of acceleration,transmission slip?

My college daughter's 2006 G35X recently lost accelerator power during long drives, she shifted into neutral and then back to drive and regained accelerator power. Now,there is a rumble,CEl and a loss of acceleration. Could this all be related to a cat converter failure?

Yeah without knowing the code there's no telling what it could be, since you said there was an accompanying "rumble" I would assume it's down a cylinder and that's what is throwing the code. Might just need spark plugs, they're only good for like 120k max before they're burned down to nothing, should change them out every 75k miles.

Thanks. The only code was from the Fuel Sending Unit. A small leak was found in a flex pipe, and some loose heat shields, but nothing else. I have to pick it up today and will do about 40 miles on the highway. Hoping for the best
