Opinion on HFC vs OEM Catalytic Converter
Opinion on HFC vs OEM Catalytic Converter
Hey this is my first post sorry if this isn’t the right place to post this!
So basically my driver side Cat is messed up and i need it replaced. I was thinking about just getting high flow cats but i’m wondering which brand of High Flow Cats doesn’t throw the SES light? Berk? Kinetix? or do all brands do that?
I’ve heard something about spark defoulers but i don’t know what that is, never heard of it. maybe someone can explain?
Or am i better off getting an OEM Cat which is like $800.
The place is take my car to get smogged doesn’t check under the car. i’m usually out in 10 minutes.
I can also install them myself. 2007 G35 COUPE

That's unfortunate to hear. I had read reviews about the Berks throwing codes, but it seems the Kinetix were better in this regard. I had been contemplating HFCs to help with the sound from my Borla cat-back.
I have berk HFC that I bought used on this site. I never got any codes after installing them. Willing to sell my oem cats from 06x with ~250k miles for $250. I put up a for sale post forever ago but never had any takers. If the OP is interested you can look up my for sale post or PM me if you're able.
