Headlight bulbs and nomenclature

Hey folks. 2005 G35 with spec-d headlights. What is the light under the projector? Is that City and Fog lights? Any recommendations on upgrading that bulb? Is it something Diode Dynamics sells? Thank you

the small city light is usually a T10 base 194 type bulb. Some LED bulbs hyper flash in that circuit.

i’ll take a picture of where the bulb goes. Looks like a much larger bulb goes there. Maybe i’m just being a dummy though. Thats a real possibility

On my car, I left the high beam original with the halogen bulb. Its never on so I didnt really care much for the color of the light. And I didnt go with HID because they take a few seconds to become bright. I want my hi beams bright instantly.

If u are gonna go with LED, I guess just match the color output to whatever you already have in your low beam.

Its a 9003 bulb. Its a dual filament. I think it acts as a DRL and a hi beam.

Yep ^ dual function on 03-04 design. The 05-07 projectors had H1 bulbs down there (real small halogen guys).
