Fixed an exhaust with just a $10 clamp

Hello all,

This is just a feedback in case anyone ever thinks about using one. So on my 2003 G35, somehow the previous owner cracked a section of exhaust in a manner that the normal clamp is broken to bolt the muffler area to the middle main pipe. I wanted to make sure that was all that was wrong, and if so then maybe I could weld it together. But I came across this:
Amazon Amazon

A 2.5" diameter wide clamp. With it, I was able to cut off the broken clamp, bring the two pieces of pipe together, then use this clamp them together. At first I didn't think this was going to work but as I tightened it it stretched around the pipe and sealed up. I was impressed, I've been driving it a few days and it holds just fine. Not bad for $10 or so. I've seen a lot of "exhaust patches before and most don't work for long. This is straightforward and just works with a ratchet.

Any, thought I would just mention here on the forum.

Hope everyone's day is going well. My next job is to replace one of the upstream sensors as it seems to be dead, but I will probably replace both since I am working on the car anyway.

Your mom's boyfriend
What if we like the extra noise and the HP gains from having an exhaust leak though ...

That;s true
If so, then just remove the muffler
