Are you happy with Stock?

Nothing wrong with stock.
My philosophy will modding my car is to improve areas where I thought that the factory could have been better. But overall keep an OEM appearance.
The only mods I have that are noticeable from the outside are X5 projectors, red brembo calipers, crossdrilled front rotor, and 2-piece rear rotor. I'm very happy with my lighting and braking situation.
Even if I had a $80K sports car, I'd probably still polish the intake manifold, etc, just to increase the performance over a stock car of the same type on the street.

I fear that modding my car would just make me look like one of these kids with little brains and too much money invested in my car.
