Need Engine Harness For VQDE JDM Engine Swap | Need
Hey All,
I rarely post on this website as I'm more active on Bimmerpost with my current 335i build. That being said, does any one have a engine harness for sale that I can purchase?
Right now my current one is experiencing some electrical issues due to a grounded wire shorting. As a result, I removed the ground wire that sits underneath our cold air intake where it connects to our block, and installed a 4 gauge oxygen free copper wire in an attempt to resolve my issues with the engine not fully cranking over. Using my AutoTel I pulled (2) codes: P0345 and P0340. Yes, I know I could replace the (2) camshaft sensors in an attempt to resolve my issue with the car not starting, however, I have a solid feeling the wires leading to the camshafts sensors are either faulty or shorted - due to the previous ground shorting them. That said, I am thinking ahead "worst case scenario" as right now I plan to conduct the following:
- Remove the camshafts and ohm value test them with a voltage meter/oscilloscope.
(1) If they are bad, then this lets me know to replace them and see if the car will crank. (2) If they are good, then this lets me know there's another issue (possible wiring short/corrosion/defective as mentioned).
Thanks whoever chimes into this thread as I'm sure "Garry" will post shortly. Nothing against Garry other than I see his name frequent.
