HELP! 😓‼️ Misfiring problem
If anybody can help ! My oil filter wasn’t put in properly because the o-ring(oil filter gasket) was removed which resulted in when I turned the car on, all of the oil leak under the car . Once I replaced the filter with a new one && redone the oil change … my car doesn’t want to turn back on at all . It turns on for a few seconds when I jump started it but it shuts off again . The mechanic told me it can be the fuel pump but it was perfectly fine until that leak spilled from the oil filter not having the rubber o-ring on it . I tried putting the scanner for codes but since I restarted the ecu it’s not giving no codes.
Are you sure it's not just out of gas? Don't rely on the gas gauge which is notorious for failing and showing 1/2 tank when it's actually empty. Plus someone may have siphoned your gas out.
I would add 1 gallon of fresh gas just to rule that out, if it still won't start scan for OBD2 codes.
Blowing oil past the filter o-ring shouldn't cause anything like what you described because there's no electronics under the filter that could be damaged, it would literally just drip on the belly pan and that's it unless you ran the engine low on oil (which would take a minute or two) and spun a bearing. If it only ran for a few seconds and didn't drain the oil pan then it's probably fine.
