infiniti g35 sports coupe engine shuts off

Hy fellas
i hope you all are well,
so my infiniti g35 s coupe 2003 automatic, turns off its engine without warning or anything
it started few days ago, in the start it happened like the car lost its power for like 1 sec while i was driving and then again got in power and yesterday the car completely shutdown while i was on the road then i had to pull over and start it again
it happened 2 time yesterday and today i was waiting in line of drive thru and my car was in neutral and the car shutdown while even in neutral and then i started it again but it took some power for battery to start it, didn’t start like normal and vdc off, slip and service engine lights lighted up on the dashboard
your advice would be really helpful as i’m a student and I don’t wanna get into any big problem
i bought this car like a week ago

It was like this after engine turned off in neutral before i had to start it again

If the check engine light is on just take it to an auto parts store and they can read the code for free. Thatll tell u whats wrong with it exactly.

But from the sounds of it, I would say its a bad camshaft or crankshaft sensor. Those sensors failing is pretty common on these cars.

there’s no engine light, could it be a problem of battery cos after shutting off engine the car struggles to turn on again

Does the engine crank fine? If its cranking fine then the battery is good.

Or is it just cranking but it wont start?

Until you give us codes, we can sit here for ( infiniti ) coming up with theories and ideas and keep guessing.

it's most likely the cam position sensor. But go find out

Use only OEM or Hitachi (OEM mfr) sensors. Lots of evidence throughout the forum that cheap aftermarket sensors either don't work or don't last. Don't be that guy!

Ignore that bank lean code for now, it might have been caused by the engine stalling. Replace the CPS, clear codes, rescan for codes and see if it comes back.

Just to verify, you replaced the one on the DRIVER SIDE correct?

If so, did you use a Genuine OEM Nissan or Hitachi sensor?

It's a pretty common issue for all aftermarket sensors to fail quickly, or to just not work at all.

Strongly suggest either Hitachi (the OEM manufacturer) or a genuine Nissan sensor.

Yup, aftermarket sensors dont work well with these cars. I have tried it too and found out the hard way.

Buy an original Nissan sensor or a Hitachi. And dont buy the ones on ebay that say “OEM”. Theyre usually around $50 bucks and even come with Nissan packaging but they are FAKE!!

I went through 4 cheap Amazon sensors on the audi before I wised up and got some from rock auto.

Listen to these guys.
Those cheap sensors don't work on any car...period.
