Rattling Driving me Crazy!

I have a 2k5 DG Coupe. I've had it for 1 month and it has 1242 miles on it. There is rattling coming from the left air conditioning vent next to the drivers side door. There is also rattling coming from the navigation system area. Anyone have any similar problems? Also, can I get this fixed via warranty?

Thanks

I have a month old DG coupe also. I have 900 miles and have the same left A/C vent rattle. Mine sounds like a marble rolling/banging against plastic in there. The sound is really bad over rough roads. And my rearview mirror just started rattling also. Unfortunately, I don't have a clue about the fixes for these. Maybe, someone knows how to take apart that left A/C vent?

i don't know about the vent. But i had the rear mirrow one and the dealer fixed that one. It's actually a tsb. So i would suggest you take it in for that. Do any of you guys have the rear parcel rattle problem?

I have a month old DG coupe with 900 miles also. I have rattles everywhere from the vents to the dash to the door. The loudness and pitch of the rattles change depending on the road surface I am on - it can go from a high-pitched buzz to a coarser rattle. I've tried pressing on the dash and vents while I am driving to see if I can make it stop, but nothing seems to work. Whenever I hear someone say the fit and finish of our G's is equal to BMW I just laugh because my 330 is as quiet as a library - never one rattle.

Its a DG thing. I have all those rattles and more,Month and a half of ownership and only 1250 miles as well. But as far as left AC vent, it really might be your rearview mirror....its so faint at time that its decieveing in terms of where the sound is generated. Try holding it in different ways and see if the rattle goes away.

More accurately, they don't care enough about it to fix it - they certainly could if they wanted to. I feel like printing this thread out and sending it to them, but I think it would be very easy for them to dismiss it as just a dozen people complaining. If we had a few hundred people speaking up, that might get their attention..............

Guys, chill. It's not uncommon to have a new car develop a couple of rattles early on. I've read many posts with guys with Beemers etc having the same issues. I've had the same experience with Mazda, Acura, Jeep, Pontiac and Honda. The dealer will diagnose and fix the rattles for you for the first year.
My G had a bad one with the rear parcel shelf. It took a couple of trips to diagnose it and then they implemented the TSB. Solid as a rock now with 7k on it.

Most if not all of the rattles in my car are seasonal, meaning each change in the season brings a specific rattle.
winter is usually the glove box area, especially under 30 degrees.
spring is usually the sunroof squeek, but thats intermitent.
summer is the rear parcel shelf buzz, thats really annoying.
fall is usually a combination of them all followed by a brief time with not a crack, buzz, rattle or annoyance....

Do I wish this car was rattle free? of course. Does it really bother me to the point of selling the car....Naaaahh. I had a Mercedes Benz that creaked and squeeked as well....Way too much temperature changes and so many different materials for it to be dead quiet...
