Loose A-Brace Bolts!

So I started developing a clunk noise at low speeds, turns out all 8 A brace bolts backed them selves out and were loosened! I don't drive my G in the winter and took the A brace off to restore it and paint it while It was in storage. When I put the brace back on I torqued all the smaller bolts to 46 ft ibs and applied a little anti seize for easy future removal, and the big compression rod bolts to 100 ft ibs. Ive been driving the car for around a month. What could be the reason they backed out? I am on coilovers and have a rear sway bar at its stiffest setting, don't know if that makes a difference. If anyone has an idea it would be appreciated!

That's really odd, at first glance I would blame the anti-seize but I've never heard of them backing off before?

Are you sure the torque wrench isn't WAY out of calibration?

It is weird isn't it! Torque wrench definitely isn't out of spec but after taking a look at the service manual it turns out the compression rod nuts are 114ft pounds. Although I don't know if me torqueing it to 100ft pounds would be the reason for them to back out. I tightened them back up and see if it happens again

Keep in mind those torque values are all DRY TORQUE VALUES. If you are using a lubricant on the threads like anti-seize you would want to subtract 15%-25%. So you are actually overtorqued on the smaller ones and pretty much in the ballpark for torque on the big ones.

My gut feeling is chassis vibration plus the lube has allowed them to loosen. You could add a split lock washer to them to keep them in place.

Alright so an update: They came loose again, so I will be buying new bolts and trying to clean antiseize out of threads. I feel as if the bolts go in to easy and every pothole I hit with my coilovers is causing these bolts to loosen up slowly but surely. If the new bolts still loosen, I will do what was suggested and put a lock washer or something to try to lock those bolts up.

Wow that's really strange, it's got to be that anti-seize. I would try something like the aerosol can Goof-Off and then put split ring lock washers on everything.
