How well does retouching work? I've seen the retouching pencils and **** like that, are they pretty obvious or what?

One nice thing about the clear bra that nobody's mentioned is that it seems like bugs come off of it much easier than they do on the paint.

Im getting a clear bra just for the front bumper this Tuesday. I got quoted $300 in Dallas. I would get it for the hood, but I do not like the "line" on a black car.

I don't think its much of an issue in Socal as it would be in places such as the midwest/east coast due to dust/back roads/salt etc...

Yeah i agree. I think i will be getting a leather bra for long road trips (i drive from SD to Bay Area 2-3 times a year) and just take it off during my regular everyday driving.

Here you go, I will be the one to say it:

Most of the people with major paint chipping problems are those drivers that ride bumpers and sit next to trucks. You are basically asking for the damage. I've driven plenty of freeway miles and have never had any serious issues with chips on 4 different cars.

Flame away

My 30 months old 2003 G35C with clear bra - 1 rock chip (a big one, cracked the paint underneath the clear bra)

Fiance's 2 months old 2005 G35S without clear bra - 2.5 rock chips in 1500 miles.

I wouldn't take the chance. You can't tell clear bra from the bumper, only on a partially covered hood.

Sounds like you need to call Alan with ISI. FGC members get the bra installed for $540 and it is complete coverage. Hood, bumper, fenders and mirrors. Details on the FGC Website.

I hpersonally hate the look of the clear bra. I'd rather save my cash for a bi-yearly paint job. For $700 bucks you can definately get the entire front bumper painted and the hood as well.
