People without clear bras experiencing bad paint chipping?
The thing about driving in socal, ... most of the time I have no problem around the city, yet, when ever i get on highway, i took 4 different way a day to get to work, for socal people here, if you are familiar with 405,605,5 and 101, which 3 out of the 4 freeway i took daily have tons of Truck loaded with all kind the craps.. often construction material... "sand and rocks"... they fall out and you can hear them hitting your car no matter how far away you are from them.. once it drop on the floor, it just past from one tire to the next and somehow end up on your front bumper or hood... the thing about clear bra.. I was thinking..even if i get one, I might need a new set every couple years?... just some personal thought....either way.. lots of expense to keep the car looking good...

Let me intentionally run behind a truck so that i can get sprayed with rocks!
Dealer returned my sedan to me with gouges on the hood, practically digging into and lifting the clearbra off the paint. They called their guy in and had him replace the hood and fender pieces. He actually did a better job than my original installer. Paint was not damaged in the least.

does touch up paint work well covering up rock chips? i might get one of those touch up pens...
i dont know if i want to invest in a clear bra... i'll probably just get a leather bra for long trips as most of my daily driving is non freeway

Ditto, I wanted white but went with black. Although IMO I think black is the nicest, you don't say nicks and scratches as much on a white.

It really depends on what color primer is under the paint. My 96 Altima was pitted like a Peach pit and the undercoating was a light grey, which stood in sharp contrast against the dark red paint. So if there's a light color under the G's skin, chips will show like crazy against the black.

I have had the Clear Bra for almost two years now and I am very happy with the overall experience. The installer I had was a boob but the product works. I have chips above the clear bra on the hood up toward the windshield. During the winter, with all the sand and salt they put on the roads, there is residue until the sprin rains wash it off. If necessary, you remove it with a heat gun and there is nothing left behind since they don't use anything but water to set it in the first place.
I go brand new 05 black G I small rock it upper hood
on freeway luckly it was small ship I use that new pen touch up paint
I ask some poeple if they can see it
they did not notice it
clear bra would not save that chip too high on the hood
