Clunk in front end
Clunk in front end
Ok guys I started to get a clunk in the front end I got under the car in my shop and grabbed the sway bay and shook it. The clunk seems to be coming from sway bar bushing. I replace the bushing and clunk went away. 2 days later it's back so I brought car back to my job and shook the sway bar and it's clunking from new bushing. The car is lowered but why would it be good for 2 days then start clunking again. I have new hubs, sway bar link ends and lower control arms.
There are lots of parts that can make clunking noises. You either diagnosed it wrong and replaced a part that wasn't causing the clunk or you have another part that is causing new clunking. I've had lower ball joints on both sides and compression rod ball joint on one side make clunking noises on mine. And sway bar end links multiple times. I hear lowering the car puts more stress on suspension parts so assume that's why I wore out so many parts. But these cars are old and probably have lots of miles so some of that is to be expected.
