2005 g35 headlights issues?

Both my headlights doesnt work. I check all the fuses, all is fine. I switched bios around and the igniter around still doesnt work. When I hit the high beams, I could hear it clicking around the headlights but still no lights. What could it be? Any help would be appreciated.

Did they both stop working at the same time? Did both the high beams and low beams stop working? Do any of your parking lights work? Do your brake lights work?

Is anything else in the car not functioning? Does the car start, run, and function normally except for the headlights.

Sounds like you blew a fuse, check:

Fusible link slot F

IPDM fuses 71, 78

Cabin Fuse Block - J/B fuses 1, 6, 18.

That covers all the power for the headlights, BCM, and CANBUS systems needed to communicate between the BCM and IPDM.

When you turn the switch for the headlights you're just telling the BCM to tell the IPDM via CANBUS (network) to turn on the headlights, you're not actually turning them on yourself from the headlight switch. So all three of those functions need to be working.

So where is the cabin fuse? Sorry for the stupid question.

Just to verify, you don't have high or low beams correct? And both headlights stopped working at the exact same time yes?

Fusible link is in front of the battery, IPDM is the engine bay fuse box behind the battery, cabin Fuse Block - J/B is in the left/driver footwell.

Could it be my ballast igniter?

I'd start by checking for power and ground at the ballast harness. Headlight grounds are located in the engine bay on the front of the wheel well.

Did you check all those other circuits I listed? And do your fog lights work or not? What about all your other parking lights?

Since both headlights went out at the same time it's very unlikely it's the ballast but verifying there's power and ground to everything is the next logical step.

Left side headlight harness.

red/yellow stripe, 12vdc for low beam
black, ground for low beam

red/black stripe, 12vdc for high beam
black/white stripe, ground for high beam

Right side headlight harness.

brown, 12vdc for low beam
black, ground for low beam

red, 12vdc for high beam
black/white stripe, ground for high beam

Those ground wire splice together and are landed on a 1-hole lug on the front of the wheel well in the engine bay.
