It's funny you mention that, because I just came back from picking my car up from the dealer. My CD player was being replaced, but anyway, right before I'm about to leave the lot, these two guys who worked at the next dealer over came running to me to ask me, "Hey does that thing have a twin-turbo?!" I said, "Not yet." First off I thought it was wierd that these guys came running up to me, now they assume my car has a twin turbo. Then they asked if it was "two wheel or all wheel drive". I said, "It's rear wheel drive". One guy said, "Oh, like the G35". They kept going on and on saying how much my car looks like a G35 coupe and they asked if it had the same engine as the G35. These guys were excited, I couldn't fit an answer in because they were asking question after question. Then it dawned on me. These guys have no idea that this car was rebadged to Skyline.

 

The G35s interior is more Nissan then Infiniti
-Typical 'cheap' Nissan interior

The G35s exterior is more Nissan then Infiniti
-There is NO other Infiniti 2 door cars. Nissan has lots of coupes.

The G35s specs are more Nissan then Infiniti
-Infinitis typically don't handle well, or have descent 1/4 mile times.

The G35 was made by Nissan, not Infiniti
-Infiniti does not manufacture cars, all they do is REBADGE Nissans!

 

For all that having been said, it is still an Infiniti

The reality is that Infiniti is a brilliant marketing scheme that gets Americans to believe they're driving better than a Nissan, and to believe it's worth it to pay more for the "privelege". Nissan is the reality, as it is the parent company and the G35 and Skyline are identically identified by the V35 designation.

 

The purest art form is from its beginnings. We were all born naked. Its just the way we all grow up and dress. What color, what design, And of course the mark of a true believer. Its your signature of your art form of the painting, Or in this case the rides of owe life's.

I wonder if those with Skylines in Japan have the same question on possibly rebadging their car to be Infiniti's just to be different than everyone else.......

if one day Nissan builds the Nissan Skyline 350GT and tells a person that it is the G35, and the person's eyes just glazes over with utter confusion...

....then you just shrug and say oh well, maybe someday when that person is sitting on the can a stroke of genius will suddenly strike him and he will realize Nissan builds the Skyline 350GT and the G35...and they are different cars...then

...then one day sitting on the can, another stroke of genius will strike him and he will realize teh G35 might be the Skyline350GT...But why would Nissan call the 350GT a G35 then? Makes no sense!

...then as he is gray and old...and on the can...a Japanese guy driving a 350GT will crash into his bathroom, imprinting the 350GT emblem on his forehead....and as he looks up with his last breath he will say, "oh **** thats the G35...and with the 350GT imprints on his head...oh **** thats the 350GT!
