2005 Parasitic Battery Draw from Radio
2005 Parasitic Battery Draw from Radio
Would appreciate any help or advice on next steps in diagnosing/fixing this issue:
- Noticed battery (~4 years old) would drain if car was not driven for a few days
- Battery checked by the mechanic and the battery is not the issue
- Battery still charges fine, alternator is not the issue
- Performed a parasitic draw test using my multimeter and found that the battery was pulling >400 mA with a lot of noise when off
- Checked fuses one by one and found that the main culprit was the 15A radio fuse
- Disconnected the radio fuse and battery drain dropped to a steady 100 mA (which I think I've seen is not great, but not bad)
Now that I've singled out the radio circuit as the biggest issue, any advice on next steps? I know I've seen some posts about re-soldering some of the resistors on the radio unit, but want to try to diagnose the issue further before trying that.
Thanks for any suggestions!

U sure its not the amplifier that is drawing the current?
Maybe @Wrathernaut might have an answer.
