The brembo pads for a g35/350z can be purchased from a nissan/infiniti parts department. You can also get the same pads (just order by the part number) from any brembo dealer or whoever sells brembo brakes. Some dealerships do use outside suppliers for parts. In this case they are buying the same brake pad from an outside supplier and can offer a lower price to the customer. However, most dealerships will not do this because nissan/infiniti do offer incentives to the parts departments based on their sales numbers wether its parts sales through the service department or parts sales at the front counter. Bottom line there is an enormus markup on parts in a dealership...let alone the brembo brakes. The dealer in FL may be using an outside supplier or they are making killer deals on the brembo brakes to compete with the other dealers.

FYI...List price for the front pads as stated in the infiniti database is $133.66 fronts and $89.92 for rear...but you didnt hear that from me

For the prices they are charging for the rotors, you can buy Stillen or Stoptech 2-piece rotors and actually save money. It looks like Stoptech's aero rotors use spiral vented rotors as well so they should have better cooling capacity. Stillen's brakepads seems to be much cheaper than dealer units as well. I'm sure many other performance brake pads might be as well.

Dealer suggested list on all parts is ~~ double their cost.
Why Scottsdale Infiniti over INET prices can be 25% off list plus shipping.

As an independent, roughly what we pay local Infiniti dealers for parts ---30% off list [but they deliver 3 times per day].........and we buy $400,000 per year worth for 2 locations.

The sole purpose of a dealer shop is to install the parts they sell [either to Nissan under warranty] or the paying customer........they prefer the paying customer as the labor hours are higher......Nissan gets a [hour] discount based on volume [warranty].

Unfortunately technicans and work space/equipment are a necessary evil [overhead] to sell most parts.

Interesting....www.tirerack.com sell the Brembo slotted/cross drilled sets for $373 for the front pair and $356 for the rear pair. Hawk pads are $95 for the front and $67 for the rear: http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/resul...perf&x=63&y=11

You are looking at about $1k in parts. So anything over that is labor and profit.

$500 a rotor? Could someone explain to me exactly why they cost this much? I'm not sure that I've ever paid over $150 for a rotor in my life.

Dealerships have always been a rip off though. On my lincoln, the suspension is an air ride system, and the front bags were leaking so they needed to be replaced. Dealership quoted me ~$3500. I did it for $500. *sigh*

I am confused (not surprising). Am I the only one that received a letter from Infiniti stating that the complete brake system (including even pads) on the 03 Coupe are now included in the 60k warranty? I am now at 40k, and have had my pads replaced 3 times, free of charge. If you stay on top of replacing the pads, shouldn't you be able to avoid damage to the rotors?

Has nothing to do with trans. G35 brakes are covered as long as they are not brembo brakes.

Tis tru but on the 03' and 04' models the 6 MT's ONLY had brembros and the 5 AT's had infiniti Brand brakes. So it kinda does matter on the tranny for X < 05'.

DOes anyone know if on the 05's the brakes are covered b/c I know that the reason why they were covered on the 03-04's were because of premature wear, does that mean that the 05's should assume their brakes are going to wear early too?

I dont know the vehicle options and stuff...I just fix em. All I know is that brembo brakes arent covered. Didnt know that only the manuals had brembos. Learn somthing new everyday!

I dont know if the 2005 brakes are covered, Ill try to remember to find out tomorow. The 2005 brakes are larger and are a different material. Front g35 brake pads have always been blue, the rears were blue at first, then they went to a brown pad, then a grey. The front pads on the 2005's are black so its more than likely a differnt compound.
