i low balled someone for the car and they called my bluff. my son and i are fixing it up.

i tried to get it to relearn the idle several times following the guides, it got it to go from 1100-1200 to around 800-900... it tries to drop to the normal idle every once in a while then "corrects" itself up to ~900.

it makes it hard to shift when sitting still sometimes, very annoying. any other tricks to get it to learn the correct idle?

it has a very obnoxious rattle coming from the transmission area. it sounds like a really bad head shield rattling but i got under there and it sounds like its coming from inside the transmission.

the clutch seems to work fine

 

i crawled under the car again, and i think that the cats came apart and pieces are rattling around inside, we're going to try and take it apart today and see

 

just finished putting it back together, a pita to reach the bolts but not too bad no more rattles from that

one side was blow apart and rattling bad, the other side looked like it wasn't broke, but it was still rattling just not as bad

 

Throw some new cats on there. A new set of Berk cats are pretty reasonably priced and made well.

 

i don't have to DEQ so i just gutted them for real and slammed em back on.

a couple of spark plug anti-foulers stop the CEL
