I lost a left (driver side) cv axle on my way to LA for band practice yesterday, I managed to get to the gorman exit and had my girlfriend take me the rest of the way to practice, I purchased the new cv axle and installed it in the 76 parking lot, but on the way home it started smoking again and making the same noises from the hub, I looked and there is a hydraulic line that runs into the rear hub knuckle, and the unmistakable smell of burning gear oil tells me that it must be coming from that line because my cv boots are still intact. The line itself is fine, no leaks, so whatever seal is in that knuckle is blown and I need to know what it is called in order to replace it. THe line continues to the front of the car, so where does it go, is it to the transmission, is there a reservoir that is now empty and needs to be filled, and what the hell is this line for, is it a vent system, a pressure system, somebody please tell me what is going on, because the car is pulling to the right all of a sudden as well
