Hello everyone I'm new on this site I have a 2006 g35 and my problem I have I was driving to pick up a friend and car started to sputter at 60 mph so I stopped to get gas and put a bottle of injector cleaner in it and them ran fine about 15 more miles when I reached my desstination the car died turned off key and tried to start it but I couldn't turn key the steering became locked had it towed home and now car won't start and I have no power to ecm so now I cant hook up readerdoes anyone have any suggestions also now when I turn key to position my fans immediately start up I would appreciate any sugestions

 

Do you have a sunroof? If so, you might want to check your BCM for wetness.
Check grounds to make sure they are not corroded/broken.
Battery needs to be above 12.6v for things to work properly..

The key on/fans on is a fail safe mode that tells you the ecm isn't talking but you already know it has no power. It doesn't know the coolant temperature so it runs the fans just to be safe. If the ECM has no power, that seems like a good place to start. Get the fsm at the link above and look for the wiring diagram that's going to show you the fuses and relays that you need to check. In addition to the BCM getting wet, I think the IPDM in the engine bay gets wet if the drains under the wiper area get clogged.

There will be a section of the manual all about security and it will explain all that has to happen for the car to recognize the key and disable the immobilizer and begin the process to start the car (ignition relay, starter relay, etc. etc.). If you follow that process, you'll run into every system that you need to check to be sure it's getting power from whatever relay or fuse. If the ECM and BCM can't talk to each other they car will never even TRY to start.

 

Try the Crankshaft position sensor near flywheel. May have gone out already.
