So I guess it's safe to say that if you race a '05 Mustang GT you better get a good jump on him or you are toast.

You'll change your perspective when it happens to you, believe me. Let someone you care for get smoked by some jackass behind the wheel and you'll be out for blood. I doubt when the cop shows up at your door and tells you that you no longer have a son, daughter, mother (fill in the blank) because of someone else's irresponsibility that your response will be "blah blah blah." You'll want somebody's a$$.

It's funny, I read all the time (here and elsewhere) about people whining and bitching and crying about tickets and the cops and crap when a little headwork before hand would have saved them all the trouble.

"oh no - I got a ticket for going XXX, how do I get out of it?" By engaging your brain before you apply pressure with your right foot, you'll never have to worry about it. If you don't, STFU and take your punishment.

"oh no - my insurance went up eleven-teen million dollars because I'm a dumb-a$$ and can't stop speeding. What should I do?" Sell your car, follow the law, or stop complaining - easy choices all.

You reap what you sow Wrah. It's not a question of if, but when. Few things please me more than to see some idiot who just flew past me weaving in and out of traffic end up on the side of the road with a cop behind them. The funny thing is, even if they don't get pulled, I'm usually a car or two behind them (if not alongside) at the next light anyway. All the hassle and risk and rock chips and crap for one car length at the next light. Go speed racer go.

If you speed and race and do $hit you shouldn't do, and KNOW you shouldn't do, you should be 'person' enough to shut up and pay the consequences when you get popped. Odd how most people aren't, isn't it? No one ever says "I was showing my a$$ and deserve what I got, do they?"

Quote: No, even better is him not dieing, but having his car impounded by the police for participating in street racing. It's actually rather common for this to happen nowadays, and I'm all for it.

Yeah, and then someone buys it at the next public auction for 10G's and hopefully a bunch of mods are already on it.

Later,

Ray

im sorry i started an argument, i just think people shouldnt be father figures to those who want to street race.... you must speed often to need a radar detector... ive yet to get a speeding ticket, 21 years old... i race, do i speed, not always... Here in NY radar detectors are illegal... I was assuming they were in many other places too... they are legal to buy, illegal to use.... go figure.... you can buy rolling paper, blunt wraps, and "tobacco grinders" but cant smoke pot.... go figure.... They closed the track here, so i take my chances.... People who buy vipers do buy them to race... who spends 80k on a car that visualy to most people who dont know about cars would prefer a corvette... that rides harsh, and loud as hell, buy it cause its fast.... and when an opurtunity arrives where he is pushed i bet he will get his 80k's worth....
