Anyone else think the highend is a little weak?
I was talking to a few friends who have recently test driven the g35 and agree that the low end power and acceleration is excellent while the high end power and acceleration is weak. I also test drove a G Friday and did an acceleration test from 60-120 and in the higher rpms in didnt feel like it pulled hard like it did in the lower RPMs. Does anyone else think this is true?

yeah the top end starts to die off but from 2-5k rpms the torque is great. I can definately feel the top end dying cause I'm a honda guy too and you can feel it pull all the way to 8-9500 rpms on trqless honda's . Basicly imo the G is great for gobbs of low end trq but the topend needs to breath better.

Thats Hilarious.. I own a honda accord, my friend owns a TL Type S.. and we both agreed the high end dies off.. Its so unlike you feeling in a Honda V6. To me low end torque was great, but I also want an engine to have great high end. Whats some alternatives to gain high end HP?

Unfortunatly I do not have the skill to drive the 6 speed MT. I drove the 5 speed automatic.

I've got a plenum spacer and an intake and I still think the top end is a little weak! I raced a modded Suby WRX from a roll and we were locked dead even till the bitter end when he left off.
Granted you could sway that several ways. First off he had a downpipe, STi exhaust, and flashed ECU where he could optimize boost. But still ! On the other hand I've got an AT and the G weighs a lot more than a Suby.

yeah.. the top end is pretty weak. I raced my friend's m3 from 80 to 145 MPH.. I dropped to fifth and my friend stayed at the sixth gear. up to 125 MPH we stayed the same.. after that the m3 starts walking slowly.. at the end my front bumper was at his door. the worse part is that he did not even switch the sport button on. Damn.. m3 sure is a fast car.
BTW, we both have 4 people in our cars.
