Pros:
I have to applaud Nissan for at least attempting to compete with BMW. They didn't do a very good job, but get an "A" for effort and participation. Yay for Nissan... you get a sticker!
Cons:
Hiddeous exterior styling. Tacky rental-car interior. Second rate IIHS crash test results due to weak head/neck protection and high crush levels compared to the class leading 3 series. Less safety equipment than 3 series. Did I mention the ultra-fugly design?
Overall Review:
Obviously the G35 is one of the ugliest cars on the road... not many people would disagree. Poor styling aside, the G35 is a decent performer. That said, it isn't quite as good as a 330i. Funny how a 225hp I6 from BMW can match the acceleration of Infiniti's over-hyped 260hp V6. The seceret is BMWs flat torque curve that offers ample torque throughout the entire rev range versus Nissan's peaky, gutless V6 that has to be reved sky high for power. Ultimately I chose the 330i because it offers better performance, better styling and better safety than the G35. Did I mention that everyone I know thinks the G35 is hideous?

I think that's pretty sad. He's giving BMW owners, who are supposed to be real car enthusiasts a bad name. Anyway, I believe the few articles I've read on the 330i vs G35 Sedan had the auto tranny sedan being as fast as the 330i 5-speed. 0 to 60 in 5.5 (G35C) seconds is alot faster than 0 to 60 in 6.1 seconds (330i). Car rags aside, there are alot of people who don't know the capabilities of their cars or simply can't drive worth $hit. There is a huge difference between 225/214 and 280/270 and you can feel it. 0 to 60 sprints aren't the 350z/G35s strengths, but take it to a road course or track and you'll see what I mean. Watch the Best Motoring video with the G35c/350z and M3 and you'll see the M3 won, but at the very end. That's a 333 hp car, not a 225. I've proved my point, not by mag racing, but at the drag strip when I beat a E36 M3.

Not to go OT, but if the Euro keeps rising, we may see a change in BMW and Mercedes overall. It's already begun with deep discounts in leasing. BMW nevers lowers prices, but known to hold the line. That's what happened when the G35 duo hit the scene. The USD market doesn't look so attractive if you have to sell the car for less than what it costs to make it (Euro/USD conversion). The Japanese are closely and I mean closely watching the USD and making appropriate changes, but the USD is no longer the #1 currency, but the US remains the #1 market. In other words, even with 255 hp, the 330 will cost even more.
