Requesting Lakeshore slate with tint pics

Trying to figure out what type of tint I want on my coupe so I am hoping people will have pictures for me to look at.
Does anybody know the tint laws in CA for the front windows? Can it be under a certain percentage?

I'm curious too. I've been thinking about tint and wondering how dark or light to go.

Even though just about half the cars you see on the road in California have tinted windows, I think tint is only legal on windows behind the driver. So it is illegal to put any tint on the driver's side window (driver's door) or passenger side window. But if you have a medical condition that requires it, you are allowed to tint those windows. I know when I had my previous cars windows tinted, the tinting place had me sign a waiver that I understood it was not legal to tint the front windows and that they were not liable. They also said that the warranty would cover the tint in my back windows, but not the front windows since they were considered illegal.

Here buddy.. whatever you do, don't get charcoal tint, especially in Cali.. get something subtle like Huper Optik 40% or 30%, or something a tad reflective that's not going to attract too much attention. That would look great on Lakeshore Slate. Make sure you ask around about a good tint shop, once you go they'll have samples you can choose from.

Pic aren't mine, so I don't know what kind of tint this is. Looks like 35%.

ylg35c is correct, here in CA, you cannot TINT your front driver and pass. windows period. There are lots of people that get away with it every single day, but to be on the safe side, get a low percentage that isn't too obvious, like 35% and above, and has dark as you want on the backs.

Llumar makes a legal tint, but it really looks like your green glass. I got 38% fronts, 20% everything else and its pretty clean looking. Here is a link to what it came out to look like on my DG coupe under different days (overcast and sunny) and different angles can look darker and others lighter. At night though almost all tint looks like black limo.

And I'm in Socal too. The tint is Llumar. I highly reccomend it. Also make sure to inquire about non metalic film if you have navigation or satellite radio. You don't want interference.

I will post some pics. I just got 3M tint at 35% all around my car. Lifetime gurantee for $175, but that's because I've going there for a while.

In Cali you can't tint the front windows. I had a photosynthesis excuse from a doctor and still got a ticket. It's a moving violation too, not a fix-it ticket, so you have to go to court. I got off because I had the regs and the note and a judge who was cool (besides, the same CHP officer stopped me teice in a month and a half so I claimed profiling because I felt it was).

its actually up to the officer to cite it as a moving violation or fix-it

My bad! Freudian slip. I was talking to someone about photosynthesis and then started typing. My bad! All hell, you know what I meant! LOL!

Photosensitivity is correct but perhaps the herb I accidentally didn't inhale caused me to think about photosynthesis!

mtnez, you forgot to post your pics. Would appreciate it if you did?

What did you have to do to get a photosensitivity note from your doctor? Actual tests or just asked him/her? Was it the optomatrist?

I've got 35% on the sides and 20% on the rear. If the weather holds up I can post a couple pics too.
