New Icruze optioin for I-Pod
Looking at Grubbsperformance.com a few days ago I saw the new Icruze for I-pod coming in may. Did some research and it looks like it will be the best direct connect kit for the G35 yet. From what I researched though, even though you can use the steering wheel controls...ect, it seems as if it replaces the in dash CD changer.
If you have an I-pod and haven't seen this option yet search it on google and post here what you think of it.
If you could use the cd in dash changer and the ICRUZE through the sat radio button I would deffinelty do it, but I don't want to lose my CD capabilities.

Haha no not at all, it does NOT remove your CD changer...it is merely stating that because you have your music library at your fingertips, you will no longer use your CD changer.
This simply hooks the thing up to the SAT button or builds an additional Audio input to the OEM unit. Looks nice and clean.

I took a quick look at Monsters site. The unit has a couple of pieces that have to be installed up in the dash. There is a simple dock connection to get the IPOD connected, where you mount it depends on your tastes. Usually anything that is DOC connected (IPOD and Mini) will work. It will charge your Ipod while it is connected. This is the first IPOD system that I actually like. I also plan on installing SAT radio in my car so I did not want to go the NAS route. Didn't see anything on the price though. That is what will make or break this one for me.

I looked at it on the website http://www.monstercable.com/icruze/overview.asp Great item...but its tooooo expensive...I would rather buy the Nissan adapter unit, go through the sat, and hook up a base like at http://g35ipod.com/home.php?skin=1. THAT is a great idea, and will be my next toy for my 60gb ipod

After reading some info on Monster website FAQ's page it looks like it only takes the place of the CD changer, using discs 1,2,3...etc as selecting the playlists from the I-pod. My question is, is there anyway to connect the ICRUZE through the sat radio button and leave the CD changer alone so you can use both I-pod and CD changer.

iCruz won't work on G35 Indash CD
I worked with Monster on a project January/Feb and had their group check out the iCruz for us. This product is a no go since we don't have a trunk mounted changer. We could use the PAC dual Sat input for two aux devices as long as you don't have a factory installed Sat receiver. I really wanted the steering wheel controls - that product is still to come.
On a side note, I can't believe they dropped the tape interface on the 2005 lineup, but I do like that MP3 playback on CD is added. ~10 Hours of music on a CDR - Nice!
See below:
----------------
The Infiniti G35 uses the MPC FX IM-NIS1 which is an interface module. This interface module comes with the needed cables.
Applications will vary by vehicles. Some will require just a cable. Some will require a module (that uses the cable that comes with the module). Some will require a module and separate cable. The application guide specifies what parts are needed for each specific vehicle.
iCruze will not connect through the Satellite Radio port, only the CD Changer port. The question that will determine whether or not iCruze is compatible with your particular car is whether or not your stereo still has the option to connect an additional external (i.e. Trunk Mount) changer. As long as this is the case, then you can connect an iCruze to that CD Changer port on the back of your stereo. If your owner’s manual does specify this, please check with your dealer.
Monsterous Thanks!
