New car, engine ticking??
He said when the engine is OFF, well thats going to be the metals cooling and contracting in the engine and you'll hear that "ting ting ting" sound usually coming from the catalytic convertors cooling.

After watching that video.. thats defintely injectors, and maybe slightly the cam followers.
If it were valvetrain u would hear it a little louder at start up till the oil gets to the top of the heads.. then it would quiet down. I wouldnt worry.. thats why we have warrantys

The sound in the video is perfectly normal. It's mostly the valvetrain - the cams acting on the flat tappet lifters make that tapping noise. The injectors would make a similar noise but much more rapidly, so it's probably not them. If you want to quiet the valvetrain down, I recommend using a thicker oil such as Castrol Syntec 0w30 (the german stuff) as it's a thick 30wt - just what the VQ likes. It made a big difference over the 5w30 dino I was using before.
