Cleaning The G!!!
I bought an 05 G35 coupe last week and wanted to get it washed, i was wondering if it is a good idea to get it washed at like a gas station car wash because its black i dont want to make any scratches because they show up like nothing. Also another question i had was like how often should i get a car wash, because some people say that if you leave dirt on your car for long itl get into your paint (by the way the car is parked outside)..
Any Help Would Be Appreciated

Definately get it washed at the gas station. Always. Why spend big bucks when it's just going to get dirty again anyway. And wait at least 6 weeks between washes. The water weekens the paint on these babies. If you have to wash it yourself use Dawn dishwashing liquid it helps to remove the sap that gets on it when you park outside.
Make sure you get the free dealer wash when you have it in for warrenty service (as you will be seeing them a lot, be sure to take advantage of this) no one knows how to wash them better than the dealer does!

Cripes, I gotta find another G35 forum. This one is totally f-d up!

do everything toptech just mentioned...
If its a touchless wash at your gas station, it's a good idea to use that.
make sure you wipe her down completely after the wash. You don't want wate
spots.
If you're car's just got dust on it, you can use a california car duster and some
detailer spray between washes.
oh yah, try some Meguiar's NXT Techwax next time. it's an easy to use polymer wax
with tremendous shine without much elbow grease.

What the?!?!
I myself wouldn't get it washed at the gas station car wash, I don't trust anything or anybody washing my car except a professional detailer & myself. I don't even let the dealer wash the car. Dealers and car wash place do a crappy job IMO.

I was my car twice a week..
1st time usually on wed/tues.. for a quick wash..
- quick wash on the car
- get the bug/other crap off the front
- dust off the interior
2nd time is on saturday or sunday morning
:INSIDE:
- clean leather but still need leather conditioner
- clean windows
- vacume
- organize glove box/trunk etc..
:OUTSIDE:
- wash.. car 2x
- clean off rims completely..
- polish exhaust tips and something else.. i cant think of it rite now
- wax every other week
- tire shine and all that other good stuff...
grab a drink and sit back and enjoy myself then go call up some chick and go out for dinner or something..
I have a black on black coupe btw.. the 2nd wash takes me around 6-8hours depending on what i do.. sometimes longer.. a buffer would really help..
edit: i dont even let people clean the windows on my car... i do ALL the work on my car since my 1st car.. oil changes, mods, detailing, etc.. i just dont turst anyone. no one will cares about YOUR car (only the money) as much as you

Give the guy a break! Maybe this is his first nice new car. He was asking a question that made total sense to him and if you don't have real info to share, pass the post up. Or maybe you SHOULD find another G forum to gripe in. JJEESSSHHH. I never got why ppl feel compelled to post when they clearly don't like the content on the thread. Oh, and please don't come back with any childish comments, cuz I've heard them all. Plus, I use to be your neighbor. I just moved from Carson to Texas! Just rep your G in the LBC and let this kid be!
