i say ..WHO CARES...i bought a car so that i can enjoy it. it doesnt matter much to me if other people think my car is something else. i have enough trouble explaing what the skyline is for.

shoot. i think im going to take all the badges off and tell people that its a kit car. something that i built myself. HAHAHAH

Well this isn't a mistaken call, but I had 2 friends say at separate times that they felt like they were in the batmobile.

I have had the batmobile comment too. Plus Lexus and Porsche. It does have the same catamaran front end as a 911. At the golf course yesterday the attendant was helping me with getting clubs out of the trunk and he said "That’s a whole lotta car but not much trunk!"

BTW since when did conservative = ignorant?

I've gotten the "nice porsche" a few times. I figure the LR and my rims have something to do with it.

to be honest im glad ppl confuse my car w/ other cars (means they arent a true car enthusiast, and I dont really care about those ppl's opinion's when it comes to cars)...it isnt seen everyday or spotted by most people to know the cars make/model (not to mention alot of em are debadged or rebadged). Id rather have ppl NOT know what my car is rather than have em say 'o its a infiniti skyline 350gt GTR Vspec II'. just my .02!

you can imagine the questions the people who 're-badged their g's to 'skyline' are getting. although none of them will admit it.

Couple of drunk guys in a suburban thought it was a lexus (sc).
So far: 350z, Lexus, Avalon, Solara.

About the rebadging issues and comment: my G is rebadged (or debadged) and I get a lot of looks, mainly from slower cars in the rear view . Mostly in parking lots I get "Isn't that a G35?" or "That's a skyline?" and of course i say yes, but i give them the historical breakdown of Nissan/Infiniti and the Nissan V35 Skyline 350GT to our G35 counterpart. Most folks seem enlightened after the history lesson, hopefully engaged to buy one! But once in a while you get the haters...the ones who wish they had a G. Or they post on forums with "G35's have nothing to do with Skylines." Thats why i take time to inform folks so they have they know the history of the G. Haters dont matter anyways, you only see them as you fly by.
We only get respect from those drivers who respect what our cars can do.

Don't have the car yet, but a few friends have thought it was the Lexus SC as well...I guess it has a lot to do with the front, it's very subtle looking. The rear of the G doesn't match up to anything close and is more aggressive looking.
