there is a invoice price and a MSRP "window" price. Invoice price is the price that the dealer gets the car for *supposedly*. You can look up the inovice prices online.

Getting discounts like $1000 over invoice is tuff to get. You are not buying a hyndai. It is all about supply and demand. Dealers don't need to discount the cars that they can't keep on the lot. If you get $1000 under sticker that is a great price. Go to www.edmunds.com and enter everything you want. You will see the MSRP, INVOICE, and WHAT OTHER PEOPLE IN YOUR AREA (ZIP CODE) ARE PAYING.
I did this for my area and I came up with about $1000 under MSRP. MSRP was $39,480, INVOICE was $36,022, and what others are paying was $38,518.
Think about it this way. If you owned a business, would you discount the stuff that is selling like hot cakes? That's why you see the huge discounts and the 0% financing on the crappy cars that nobody wants.....cause they are trying to get rid of them.
With all that said, if you go at the end of the month you will have a better chance of negotiating because of quotas that have to met. I would love to see the people that said they got $600-$1000 over invoice scan their purchase contracts (black out personal info), post them, and let everyone else see what they paid.

Is this for an auto or manual? Cause I was at mission viejo while gettin my car tinted across the street and tried to pull me a deal on a manual, he said he would not. The best he could do for a manual there was about 600 bucks off. Weak if you ask me. Try Montclair, Metro, Riverside, and last resort even Cerritos.
Edit: NM, just read sport package, its auto. Thats a horrible price in that case, even for LA. You CAN do better I promise you.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that. It is a 6MT. When I bought mine, I got $1000 of the sticker price and that was after getting up to walk out 4 different times. The salesman told me he would negotiate all day on a 5AT but not the 6MT.
