Nice car. A lot different than the M3 I traded in, but I have confidence that I made the right decision. Certainly rides better - even on the 19's. And most importantly...I expect it to be quite a bit more reliable.

Custom radar goes in tomorrow. Then we rock.

Great choice, the only choice! Anything else really sucks!

Congratz, man and welcome to the forum! Pictures are a must if you are new. The ride in your M3 is stiffer than the G?

Sure felt like it. Surprising since the G has even less sidewall than the M. Just one man's opinion though.

Traded an E46, had a 330ci before that. Loved the cars but the M3 was about to come off of warranty and I just wouldn't be able to sleep at night. Also really needed an AT for my wife to be able to drive the car.

Glad you like it. That was my opinion too on the ride on the M3, which I informed you on your earlier thread.

Yep, thanks CT. I really want to see what the G and AT can do because to me, right now, it feels a bit sluggish (yes, I know.....). How much of the power and torque is up above 5K where I am trying not to go right now? I also know that I can expect the car to get faster as it aquires some miles.

What options did you get on the car, you mentioned th 19s.

What radar are you putting in?

I lifted this from Bazz (a member on this forum) who was kind enough to post a dyno sheet showing his results with a spacer and just stock. Bazz is running a 04 6MT, so the base torque numbers will match our ATs. I'm assuming that you realize that these are whp numbers not crank.

From the sheets, you can see that torque numbers begin to fall after 5K. So in answer to you question, it begins to lose power then, but in a flat gradual fashion.

I posted Bazz's data with the spacer, which I think is a easy, inexpensive mod to do that will net you 12hp/7ftlb at the wheels (Bazz's numbers). You could also get a whole new plenum (Crawford). It's really up to your preference. Lots of heated debate on the forums on this, just do a search.

Both these mods are designed to address a issue with the stock plenum (basically a cover over the engine/manifold area. The stock one has a sloping angle to it, which starves the 1st 2 cylinders of air. The spacer and Crawford Plenum are designed to increase airflow to them.

Car has Prem and Sport Tuned. Passport SR7 is going into the sunglass holder so that it is concealed but can fold down.
