How my G35 came to be...(long post)
How my G35 came to be...(long post)
I just bought my 05 coupe about 2 weeks ago and I wanted to share with everyone my thoughts about my experiences so far. First off, before I drove this car I had a 96 Honda Accord Coupe during High School which I eventually modded to become an infamous rice rocket. The usual rims, springs, clear corners, blue headlights, exhaust, blah blah blah. Anyways, it was a fun car to drive but in no way was it fast althought it did handle well. Of course everytime I drove and some supra or m3 passed by I would always tell myself I would one day have a true sports car one day.
My junior year in college my accord was rear ended by a drunk driver going about 100mph, it was deemed a total wreck. My father eventually gave me his 2000 ford explorer which I had been driving until my recent purchase. SUVs are such a bore to drive and I had forgotten how fun it used to be to drive a car around, with the explorer I just wanted to get from point A to B as easily as possible and not even think about the car.
Luckily, before graduating from College, I had secured an IT consulting job and immediately started dreaming of the day I would be able to purchase that car I had wanted back in High School. After nine months of working for my current company, I finally saved enough money to look for a new car to purchase. I narrowed it down to an Acura TL A-SPEC and the G35. We all know the rest of the story.
I have about 400 miles on the odometer and I have seriously enjoyed every mile of it. It isnt just the performance, or the luxury, or the stares I get, but it reminds me of my high school days even when i had my rice rocket. Driving is a sport and I used to love it so much. I forgot that for about 4 years and now I feel it all over again. It is something about this car that I cannot explain that I am sure many of you feel. I just want to wake up each morning and drive the G anywhere for as long as possible. Anyways, just wanted to share, sorry if this post seems kinda soft but oh well.

Congrats on the G.
I feel the same way about the G. I just keep wanting to drive it. I'm almost out of the break-in period. Then I can finally "enjoy" the car. I think I'm kicking my G's butt though. 2 weeks and I put on 950 miles. Poor thing... :/
