Infiniti Skyline
hope that goes under infiniti not NISSAN...
well, we all know that it wont look like current Gs. (unless they are so stupid to make a same looking model under same brand...=p)
a thing that bothers me the most is the price of GT-R,which it should be around 60k. (twice the Z cost)
1. price is too expensive to be under nissan.
2. like NSX under acura...infiniti needs something to compete with NSX...IMO
we will see...we will see...

I'm HOPING it will be a Nissan, because as mentioned earlier, it will probably mean a substantial price difference vs. being badged as an Infiniti... now I know everyone will give me the "Nissan service sucks, blah, blah, blah" - but when it comes to a car of this magnitude, I don't think it's really going to matter to me... as long as I can work myself into it, then I'm good to go...
And no one will know for sure what it looks like until the "final" concept is unveiled at this year's TAS...

You guys missed one thing:
"The decision is not made," said Carlos Tavares, Nissan's vice president for the product strategy and product planning division. But he added, "If we don't change the specific target customer" for the Skyline GT-R, "it will be a Nissan."
What will their "specific target customer" be?? Judging by that last statement, I find it awefully hard to believe that this GT-R will be a Nissan, costing more then ANY Infiniti sold ($60K, yeah right)!!! They may keep it as a Nissan, but if so, if will not be anywhere close to $60K. And if this is the case, I'm sure there will be some disappointment brought along with the car. It's a simple case of "you get what you pay for". Now if it's an Inifiniti, they may be able to get away with a $50K-$60K pricetag, which would bring a better car as well.
Brand name plays a HUGE part of US marketing these days. That means a lot considering that probably less then 1% of US car consumers are even familiar with the GT-R. No one who is not familiar with the GT-R is going to pay $60K for a Nissan, NO ONE!!! If this car does become a Nissan at that price, don't expect it to be around long. Too many middle age guys will be heading over to the BMW dealership, for an M3. Cheaper price for a car they (and the friends/co-workers) have heard of, with a nameplate that they feel will impress. Just common sense. Just like that stupid SCC published picture of the G35 supposed to be the next Skyline (when in fact it was actually just a Lotus' test mule car), all the magazines want to be the first to put out any "new" GT-R news. You know it's bad when the Auto. Industry media have gotten as bad as the editors at Teen Magazine!!
