Infiniti Skyline
Umm...okay...
repost
As of this point, I don't think there is a credible source as to what that damn car is going to look like or have under the hood.
In any case, I hear it comes with a passive laser restraint

Make it look like this. Thumbs Up!!!
Actually thats incorrect, there's a huge argument over that and YES it will be a NISSAN. There was an article written up that Nissan had established the GT-R would be under the Nissan badge and not Infiniti. Tensions were hot on that issue because Infiniti proponents wanted the company to have more of its own "sports car" aside from the G35.
Also that will not be the new GT-R. That particular photo has come under a ton of criticism and is more then likely fake. There's several different photos out there on the net claiming to be the new GT-R but none of them are genuine. Nissan has kept very tight wraps on this thing and won't release any information till the Tokyo Auto Salon next year.

There is no public concrete evidence as of now that says which brand will sell the GTR.
*edit and until you read a PR on Nissan's site that says otherwise, I would not believe what you "hear" and what has been supposedly said.
Business wise, it makes far more sense for the GTR to be an Infiniti. In addition, it would be atypical for Nissan to market it as a Nissan in North America.

"The decision is not made," said Carlos Tavares, Nissan's vice president for the product strategy and product planning division. But he added, "If we don't change the specific target customer" for the Skyline GT-R, "it will be a Nissan."
My guess is that if the target audience is "NISSAN" not "INFINITI" then the price could potentially be cheaper then if the GTR were to come badged as infiniti. Again nothing solid to go by till 2006 Tokyo Auto Salon when its all unveiled.

Hmmm.. wonder what the gtr would cost in ounces of cocaine...
They need to do something to get more recognition for the Infiniti brand name. So many people don't even know about Infiniti, but everyone knows the Nissan name. The GT-R will be a high end car, and Infiniti is Nissan's high end brand in the USA. If the GT-R is a Nissan, I would drop my price guess to $57000.
