they dealer just said they wanted $300 for a tranny oil change? ehh..?

 

The trannys here in Long Beach aren't as expensive.

Think changing engine oil but for a transmission..

anyways.. forget the dealer im gona do this myself.. anyone want to enlighten me on what kind of tranny fluid it comes with and what should i put in. I'm thinking redline..

How many miles have you got on your car? Seems like it's a little early to be worrying about changing your transmission fluid - unless you commute to San Fancisco every day!!??!!

 

To charge you 300$ for a tranny fluid change--the dealer ought to be wearing a mask!

 

Is that for a change or a flush? Seems pricey for a change but probably reasonable for a flush if they are using quality products like BG.

$33.88 for oil change

if anyone wants the price.. wow.. dealer work ._.

 

Just got back from dealership, she quoted me $350 with a straight face because it takes j-matic?

So lets break this down....

300-350 for trans oil change...
- 1 hr for labor $75
-------------------
$225-$275 for how many quarts of oil... /8 (no idea)

$28-$30 dollars a quart... YOU GOT TO BE FKIDDING ME.

Im going to get the rear diff changed shortly and at the same time im going to ask about the tranny oil change. if the prices are WACK (which i believe they will be since oil changes are $65 where i live) im going to the local nissan dealership.

EDIT: the 2005 manual doesnt even say the capacity of the trans... GRR anybody know ?

J matic is the special fluid required for the automatic transmissions. You cannot tranny flush on a manual trans. If you ask for a price for a trans flush they assume you have an automatic.
