You haven't said if the VDC was off or on, bro. If you're getting some wheel slip, even a little, the VDC will cut power to the engine. To do the best runs, turn off the VDC, and 'feather' it off the line. Once you get a little momentum, then nail it. You'll probably get the best times with the tranny in 'D' and let the computer shift for you... Give it another try.....

Uh, there's alot of other things that could account for difference. Manually using a stopwatch, for one. Speedometer accuracy would be another. Remember, the difference between 6.5 and 5.9, though huge to us, is still a fraction of a second in reality.

Re: G35 Automatic 0-60
All my runs were made with the VDC off. I have had experience in launching cars. Back in 1996 I had a Camaro SS, the one done by SLP, unmodified in "as delivered condition" and I was able to record 0-60 times of 5.10's with an automatic transmission using the same stopwatch. I am not complaining about the performance of my G35C in the least. It is a super neat car with a whole lot of character. I believe the magazine testers are probably launching their "prepped" test cars near the breaking point to achieve the times they do. BTW, I am 986 feet above sea level.
