HotRod,
434 small block?? is that a huge bore with a short stroke? or is it a "454"
big block.. which would make more sense. If in fact it is a 434 small block chevy, even though its not G-related. please give a bit more info on the camaro motor...
thanks RichB

Rich,

It is based on a 400 ci small block chevy. I don't remember the Bore and Stroke off hand I think it is 4.165 bore - 4.000 stroke. It does have a large stroker crank and the block had to be machined to make clearence near the pan rail for the big end on the rods. I had the Bottom end/ short block assembled by Speed O Motive in west covina Ca. I did the assembly work on the rest of the motor.

Man, you have the exact setup I want: My G35 and a 69 Camaro. Problem is that a decent condition 69 is expensive as hell lately.

you can get a shell that needs work for about 6 grand. prepare to spend another 14 to 16k on the engine and trans. and another 2 to 5k on the rear end. 5-8k to for paint and another 5-6k on the interior and if you want to really do the front end up right another 4k. But when you are done you will have a 650+hp engine running on pump gas with no power adders ( turbo, S/c or juice) that can shread even the largest tires in seconds and handle as good as the G.

Nice chevy, how long did it take you to restore it to its current condition. I have a 72, but I love the first Generation and want to sell and get one, but they are pretty pricey.

three years, I did all the work myself including the paint (painted it right in the garage at home).

HotRods Toys..

HotRod,
You had the right answer, i forgot all about the 400 small block.. it used to be 30 over on the 327's for a mean 331 ci small block. That seems to be a real nice combo, the small block with the 69 hugger, the big blocks used to wear out the front end components... nice set of toys. I my self have a 74
Z1-A 900 kawasaki.. this is my vintage toy...
see ya RichB
