05 6MT gets my vote....but I think $34k is less than invoice on a 6MT....that may be the invoice on the 5at, but i am fairly certain that a 6MT invoice is closer $36k due to its higher demand....I could be wrong, I went with an 03....

$36k is the invoice fully loaded.....you can get it for $34 without a nav.

Exactly, I don't need nav. I am an impatient man. I guess I should for something I really like huh?

Yeah, i think ive used my nav like 3 times.........but since i leased my car and it only raised my payments like $10/month, it was worth it.

I went with an 03 1. i bought it in 04 the 05's werent gonna be out for atleast another 6 mos. i know the 05's have awsome brakes but i like my brembos they set it off a little more. i would opt for the 05 now though. still love the 03 though. i dont use the nav that much but i like to look at it i usually knwo where im going. used it a few times. i like the vehicle info though. teh mpg and distance til empty all that crap.

supposedly the 05 brakes have been redesigned from the 03-04 non-brembos...

they don't necissarily stop better.........well they probably do stop better than the '03-04 auto's

The '05 brakes are A LOT more linear and less grabby than the '03/04 5AT, and have A LOT less brake dust... Never driven a Brembo-equipped 6MT, so I can't compare them to the Brembos, but Brembos aren't there to provide a smaller stopping distance. They're there to provide a better, higher performance, more fade resistant braking system overall. Brembos have fixed 4 front, 2 rear piston calipers vs. OEM floating single piston.

And I don't know why every "what should I buy" thread always has to turn into a "03/04 against '05" thread.

When you do the baseline dyno for the '05 6MT, we'll be vindicated Btw I don't know how you're holding out for the Z tube till May.. that thing brought my coupe to life, I love it.

The brakes on my '05 are just amazing. The linearity is the best I have ever driven with. Early days so who knows what the rotors will look like after 20k miles. Nevertheless as far as stopping performance goes it's just a question of "...how fast do you want to stop?"

Brembo's are great at first but in my experience they come with a big cost of ownership over a few k miles, and you must like brake dust. Those are two of the reasons why Nissan got away from them ASAP. Others will follow, I think.

^ wow, really? i don't know anything about braking systems but everyone's always talking about brembos this and brembos that. even acura's putting them in their new CRV-derived RDX mini sport-ute (as if!). if that's the case, then it's probably good that nissan got away from them!
