g35 vs bmw 3 series
2004 g35 coupe 6spd man vs 2002 bmw 330ci 5spd man
I mostly have my my heart set on a g35. it's just that when i'm gonna spend almost $30k i wanted to look at my options. i have never ridden in either a bmw 3 series or a g35. when looking at pics of the two cars the g35 is without a doubt sexier and has a much more powerful engine. but the reason i bring up this comparison is because i've heard so much about how great bmw's are. so being as neutral as possible, any opinions on the two on whatever areas you wish to cover, engine, styling, interior, handling, the attention it attracts, and value. thanks

well i dunno where you heard that the g35 is more powerful than the 3 series because it is actually the opposite. Both cars are great in their own respects, but the best bang for the buck woud undoubtedly be the g35. the best integration of style and sport for a nice price tag.
I see to many beemers and m3's are not distinct enough from the rest of the bmw line to catch the eye. the g35 gets mad looks and respect

My mom has a 330i. It's nice, but i like my coupe much more. I think the 3-series has a meaner look, but the G has sexy curve and cool exhaust. Somehow, my mom's car do always have minor problems, like...corner bulb burn out, side mirror not dimming. It really depends on what you want for yourself. Speed? reliability? or just the Brand? Overall, they both are good way to go.

Aiight here we go:
First things first...330 Ci 5 speed keeps up with the G35. And no one start yelling at me because both my friends have both cars and although the G is an overall faster car, the 330 did great for having over 50 less HP. Both were good drivers also.
Next, the G gives you more bang for the buck, but you know what they say, you get what you PAY for. BMW is just a DIFFERENT car. Feels different, rides different, looks different.
Last, GET THE FU**ING G35!!!!!! BMW owners are di*ks and 3-series owners think that because their car shares the same emblem as an M3 or a 6-series that their cars are comparable...wait until a 330 rolls up next to you (hope that you are a better driver, unless you get an auto), and the smoke the guy...by the way, my mom and my great aunt drive 330s.

The G35 is defintely a completely different car. The 330Ci is not scheduled for replacement until 2007. The redesign doesn't cover either the coupe or the convertible. I don't care for the new styling but that's me. Yes, it's a more conservative redesign thatn the 5 or the 7 but it's not my taste.
Price was a factor for me. When I priced a 2003 330Ci as compared to a 2003 G35 6MT, the price difference was over $10,000. MSRP on my G35 was $35,450 and for the BMW it was $46,500. Of course I added the performance package but that brings the BMW up to the performance or maybe a little better than the G35.

I have a 2003 6MT and I think its warranty is 48,000 miles? Is that correct?

I've actually owned a 330ci, an M3 and now a G35. The BMW's were great cars that required a decent amount of upkeep and had a decent number of problems. Haven't had the G long enough to compare...but I expect it to be better on that front. I can tell you guys that think the G is sooo much faster than the 330 that you're wrong - the difference is negligble. And once you've driven the M3 both of those other cars are sloooow.
