g35 vs bmw 3 series

330ci, or G35?
My personal opinions in the decision making process(YMMV):
I can get a new G35 for the price of a 1 yr old certified 330ci (in good condition).
Styling goes to G35 as a sporty + luxury exterior. The 330ci stylign is nice, but looks like a loaf of bread when compared to the lines of the G35.
Engineering goes to BMW. The VQ is a great engine, but the bimmer makes due with much less HP, is lighter, and yet the ride quality and handling are better. Stiffness does not equal good handling. Balance does, and the bmw has plenty of that.
I used to own a Cooper S, so I liked the idea of not having a car that you see in abundance (I'm in an area where there arent a whole lot of mini's, but plenty of 3-series). My G35 doesnt turn as many heads as the mini did, but the bmw would've turn as many heads as my old corolla.
And the rest, I didn't really care about.
BTW: almost all certified status cars have a 100k mile warranty, even if they only have 6k miles on it, and the warranty is extended to usually double the original warranty. If I could've bought a certified G35c, I would've.

Owned a 2001 330Ci 5 speed before the G. Do yourself a big favor. Get the G35. Less problematic, better looking ( never got the comment "nice car" in the BMW like I get all the time in the g ) and it's SO much more fun to drive in every respect.
Look, the 330Ci doesn't handle better, even the BMW people agree to that.
Let's look at the numbers...
G35 skidpad: .89g, by the way, this was the worst I could find, most were .91 to .92
330Ci (with the sport package, others were worse): .85g, http://www.bmwnation.com/articles/e4...etails_01.html
Check it out, the numbers don't lie.
outtie.
