Is our car equpied with immobilizer system?

 

there's an embedded chip in the car that disables the engine if someone tries to hotwire the car. all infiniti's have it and most mid-priced Nissans (beginning w/ the Altima) have it too.

 

Isn't there a chip in our keys that won't allow the car to start unless it's inside the car???

for the record, i'm not yet a G owner (tho that'll probably change in a few mos.) but i draw my experience from the '03 Altima. you might be thinking about the intelligent key (?) but that only applies to sedans. the coupes have regular keys but the engine gets disabled if you try to start it w/ a key that doesn't have the transponder (OEM) chip.
