Flat Tire.OMG!!!

my friend just got a coupe on MOnday. but today the tire went flat!! He didn't run over anything or go over a bump. there was no nail or hole or anything. The service people said this is not cover by warranty! but come on this is not normal wear and tear. should he argue to get it paid by the dealer.

I remember when I got my coupe that they offered me to get an add-on warranty for the rims and tires. This is including flat tires, bent rims, etc. I doubt the dealer will pay for it, but keep trying.

Could be a poor seal at the bead (where the tire meets the rim), or a leaky rim, or a leaky/faulty/loose valve, or vandalism......any number of things...
I'm surpised that the dealer wouldn't help your friend, since the ride is almost new.
He should find another who will help.
C.

That would include the rim being dipped in there too...not practical.

So what if the rim gets wet... don't you drive in the rain?

Unfortunately tires are not covered by the new car warranty, and is not covered by the tire manufacturer for road hazard, there's separate insurance for that.

tell him to check the inside of the tire. sometimes a piece of the muffler pipe can shatter and therefore pierce the inside of the tire.

inflate the tire to 40-50psi. Next add soapy water into a spray bottle.......spray up the valve stem, along the rim lip, or any areas where the leak may be coming from. Air just doesn't disappear, it must be leaking from somewhere.
