When did you "know" you had to have a G?
Can't believe you never heard of a G before a mag article.
I was back and fourth between keeping my car and getting a G Coupe, after my Nissan Altima finally pissed me off enough, I went to trade it in. They made the G sedans look great, and I don't like 2 doors even though it looks better. Couldn't handle the STi interior noise, so I decided on the sedan, and so far I am happy with my decision

for me it was when I started thinking "Time for a new car", then I looked at, researched, and test drove some BMW 330, Lexus IS300, Honda Accord V6, Accura TL, then it was really only a choice of coupe or sedan (I have always had small sedans) - trhen I looked at a coupe in person, and came in my pants
My prior car (Infiniti M30) was crapping out, and a new car was in order. I was talking up the G35 Sedan (since I'm married with a daughter). My best friend, who was also thinking about a new car said "**** the Sedan, if you get one it's gotta be the Coupe". Started looking at pics. Then I saw one on the road (a clean black one) and it was all over, except convincing my wife how this sports car was still "responsible".
I did go to the dealer to test drive one, and smiling like that idiot in the Volkswagen commercial on a test drive. Bought it the next day.
2003.5 G35 Coupe, Black on Black...my soul on wheels.

G
#1 I had to have an auto/4dr for work and life. Drove the RX8 and thought the auto was a dog. Drove the Altima 3.5VQ and thought wow it's nice and quick but the interior was crap. Drove the max and really liked the buttons and functions, but the quickness was gone. I then drove the G and was amazed. Everything that I wanted, but how to handle the payment? Well it worked itself out.........Peace.

Then along came the whole will you marry me thing, and well now the car is still in a holding patteren. Soon.... very.... very.... soon! heh heh heh
That's funny considering the RX-8 actually won the comparo. For me, I became interested in the Sedan in 2002. After I saw pics of the coupe from the New York International Auto Show in 2002, I was hooked. I wound up with 600 jpegs before I actually bought the car. 2 1/2 years later and I still make up an excuse to drive.
I knew the first time I saw the tv commercial for the G I believe it was early 2003. I had just purchased a 2002 Maxima the month before (dec 02). I could not afford to purchase another new car just then, so i waited unitl i had the maxima paid off Dec 05, gave that car to my wife and bought an 05 G this past January. I love the G.
My brother bought a brand new 2003 G35 sedan in Twilight Blue. I fell in love with that car. He then told me how there is a coupe coming out in a year. I loved the styling of the sedan and could only imagine how great a coupe would look. So as soon as I saw the coupe (i believe Laser Red) on a commercial, I fell in love. I went to the 2002 Tampa International Auto Show and fell in love even more with the coupe. From my senior year in high school (2002-2003) i could only dream about this car. Then the happiest day in my life came on January 4th when i purchased the car.
liked the looks of the Z when it first came out, then everytime i saw one i like it less and less. something just wasn't right. ...and then i saw the G and said thats it.
I started noticing the G due to one of my friends always nagging about how he wanted a Z or a G coupe. Back then I didn't even know the G was available with 2 doors. Then I borrowed one to drive it and boy I couldn't fall asleep that night. I was like, one day this car will be mine.
