In my case, certainly no.
I did very well to get the G. No complaints from me...

My point is this... if you're gonna pour 60k into a car, it better be damn reliable and meet all your needs/concerns. The M3 in its current form is a great car, but there are still several question marks. Put an M5 in the same price range? I would have snapped it up lol. This is my last post on this topic.

I am always a bit confused when people compare the G35 to the M3. For a 20k premium it should be (and IMO is) a nicer car. I don't see anyone comparing the G35 to a Scion xB - that's a 20k differential too.

Now when the next generation M3 comes out and the Skyline gets here THEN we'll have a decent comparision...
EXACTLY. I completely agree. If I could afford a brand new E46 M3, I'd have
bought one instead of my G. We're talking about a $20K price difference here.

The G35 was never designed nor marketed to compete with the M3. It was
designed to compete with the regular 3series. Against the regular 3series,
the G35 wins hands down. It's *still* cheaper, is faster, and has better
seats. The rear leather seats of the regular 3series feel cheap compared
to the smooth leather seats in the G.

Now the funny thing with the M3 is, for $20K it better be better than the
G35 in EVERY aspect. Except it's not. The 6spd manual shifter on the M3
has long throws and the clutch pedal has long travel.

Actually, regarding Infiniti's pricing strategy, the GT-R will undercut the M3's MSRP just like the FX45 does to the X5, M45 does to the 545, and the G35C does to the 330Ci ZHP.

I'm willing to bet that 90% of the people on this board would have bought an M3 if the price difference wasn't so significant.

I love the M3 but after seeing Martin's (illl G35) car at Captree meet I will never look at a stock one the same. His car is ridiculous and I want it really really bad!!!
