does interior quality affect driving satisfaction?

i currently drive a tsx and am considering getting either a 04' g35 coupe or a 02' bmw 330 coupe. from what i've read the 03' 04' g35's interiors aren't that great and i can't afford a 05. i love the g35's exterior and engine but if the interior is of a lower quality than my tsx (which by the way has one of the best interiors of its price range) then it might make me lean toward the bmw more which has a less attractive exterior, but great interior and decent engine. any feedback from 03' 04 g35 drivers on the interior compared to the two other cars mentioned above would be appreciated. thx.

It really depends on you. Are you a driver or a DRIVER? I'm way too busy listening to my exhaust and taking corners as fast as I can to pay attention to my interior. All of the luxury features (6 cd changer, power windows, seats, mirrors, xenons, etc) are there, so It wasn't a deal breaker for me. The car has so much going for it in the powertrain and handling department, that I overlook to small interior nitpicks. Most people that would choose a TL or BMW over the G35 care more about these things and never take their car to the track or drap strip.

Say you are blasting down a windy road and coming up on a 50ft radius hairpin. You get ready to heel and toe after that last marker. At that point a question flashes in yout head: do you prefer wallnut interior with champaign leather or birdseye trim wood with napa leather?

Dude, keep the TSX and save your money until you can afford the car you really want. Don't get a used G or a use Beemer, look at some of these threads about how some of the cars are driven. Also, by the time your TSX is paid for, a new version will most likely be on the streets. The TSX is a really, really good car. It looks good, has a great interior, is sporty enough to have fun with, and it has a very respectable name plate.

I like the new TL's gigantic NAVI screen... it's FREAKIN HUGE! ... but hey, it'll cause more accidents cause its so damn big and I'll probably want to keep staring at its bright glow.

I read a lot of posts about interior quality and rattles and such....on my 03 (which I bought this March with 32k miles and one owner) I don't have any issues...well, it has the window streaks which are being corrected now at the dealer...but other than that, no rattles, no fading, no nothing....the TSX is built in Japan, as well as the G....much better than the American built TL....and I speak from experience....I wouldn't buy a BMW purely for the maintenance costs and lower "reliability"....like said above, you should wait until you can afford to get the car you really want...you won't regret that....unlike a rushed decision...

The difference between the 30/04 and 05 are very minimal. It is pretty much the same car. People can argue this until they are blue in the face. Only a G35 driver would notice the difference.

I agree. Im planning on getting the TSX or TL next for my commuter to
replace my 04Civic.

Interiorwise, I like the C-Class (for the price range) better, but the TSX
has a lot more punch for the price.

Well, looks like my face is going to turn blue. Here are my impressions: First, the look is similar, but the quality of the materials is much better. For instance, the 05s have soft-touch materials on the dash as well as the instrument hood, whereas the 03/04s have very thin/cheap hard plastic. The edges of the interior components on the 05s have smoothe cut lines, whereas the 03/04s have rough (cut your hands) edges. The 05s have real aluminum that looks and feels as it should, the 03/04s have painted plastic that scratches easily and rubs off. The 05s have really nice electro-luminescent multi-faceted gauges and the 03/04s have flat GM-type cheap-looking gauges. Overall, the 05 interiors make for a much nicer, luxurious feeling and looking cabin. I wanted one of these cars since they first came out, but the interior was holding me back. At the time, I had a 2002 Mustang GT and was looking for an upgrade including a luxurious-feeling/looking interior. I was almost ready to buy a 330, when I heard that Infiniti was finally going to answer the outcrys for interior quality improvements. I waited, and I'm glad I did.

oh yeah...I forgot, I do have some peeling on my shift pattern plate on the ****....same **** used in the 05...

and I agree, the changes in the 05 are nice...I'll probably trade my 03 for an 06 next year if I don't fall out of love by then....
