I agree, 5K rpms at 5th gear, should be something more like 95-100mph.

The guy in the other thread said that there was another G in the same dealer with the same problem but with no intake. I almost wonder if there is something wrong with our mass air flow sensors....

Are these CAI filters oil-based or simply dry cotton?

Don't think that it could be a recall issue on a sensor or something?

Maybe you'll need Motordyne Spacer to allow more flow to the engine
(juss guessing it might work with aftermarket CAI)

theres been known promblems with the 6MT + Injen CAI. Best bet is to search around or go with the Z-Tube K&N or Pop Charger combo

No problems here.. I have AEM CAI (installed myself), and I have opened her up frequently. The AEM CAI has been installed for two weeks and I have enjoyed it so far, no problems whatsoever (fingers crossed, while knocking on wood).

Im sure we are all curious to see what the issue is. Keep us posted!

EDIT: My only other mod are clear corners.

Thx,

See, I installed mine myself and drove it over 3 weeks with no problems...it has only happened once, but just not normal for any car. I really dont think that it is the Injen CAI, I think any type of CAI can cause this. When I first installed the CAI, I beat on the car quite a bit and this never happened...

actually, come to think of it..i think I know what happened now...I floored my car in 5th gear, which i should've been in 3rd and I think it ran TOO rich, becuase there was not enough air coming into the intake, and the ECU detected this and shut it down...this makes sense, you are flooding the engine with gas like this...imaginge doing 40mph in 5th gear, punching it and you see/hear that the engine is not reving at high rpms, so the air is not being sucked in...and imagine holding that to almost redline(that was my dumb mistake)...so, during this whole process, all you're feeding your engine is GAS and minimal air...anyways, I had the Ztube/KN and the Injen CAI is noticably better..better throttle response and definitely gives more at the mid-top end, which all of our G's need...

I agree with the CAI vs. the Ztube/KN. With the AEM, it does feel more responsive and aggresive. Especially during dusk or dawn driving, where the air is cooler.

Either way, i've been happy with the CAI so far.

Keep us notified if this issue continues.. uhh.. to continue (?).
