I have AEM CAI and have not encountered any issues. I am very happy with the AEM CAI.

There was a TSB a year or 2 ago about a possible faulty 'crank position sensor' which could cause the engine to just die. There are lists of TSB's in our DIY/FAQ forum.

Have you just installed a CAI or otherwise changed the intake?

My car would die out alot sitting in neutral, clutch up, shifter neutral after about 10-20 seconds after being turned on. This was when I was 100% bone stock. I did the pulleys and pop/z and it hasnt done it since. If the crank sensor is thinkings its too overloaded, it will just kill the fuel and shut the motor off. underdriving might have actually help me as the crank pulley puts slightly less resistance down which might keep the sensor from freaking so much....

What do you guys think, this is another one of my "The G is f***ked up because" theories.....

If anyone can solve my phantom rolling down passenger window, then Ill be impressed.

Each time I was getting off the highway and downshifting from 5th to 4th.

MAF was first thing that came to mind. They called today and said there was no code and they couldn't reproduce the problem (surprise, surprise). Luckily I have a friend there on the service drive so he's gonna get the tech to reset the ecu for me. I'll pick it up tomorrow and see what happens.

I had the same problem right after I installed my Injen CAI. If I went 80mph or above and pushed the clutch or dropped into nuetral, the car would die. I tried the ECU reset and nothing changed... So I bought an Injen heatshield (so the filter isn't hit with direct air from the outside) and my problem is 100% gone.

Like I said earlier, in this same thread and in the link below....

I have AEM CAI and have not encountered any issues whatsoever. I am very happy with the AEM CAI. I have opened her up frequently (100+ mph) and have not encountered any problems.

my only other mod are clear corners.

i had the same problem in my old prelude. it was the ignition, the magnet inside wasnt holding in the key, it was unnoticeable, but when you giggled the key a little it would shut off.

Have you gone up to speed and put it in neutral? Back when my car would die, I could take it to any speed I wanted and keep it running as long as I didn't take the load off the engine (neutral or holding down the clutch until RPMs fell to idle).

Happened to me!!!

I used to have that same problem on my Mitsubishi Galant. I had a 5 speed and when I finally found out what it was, the dealership said it was the "air idle control valve" which is part of the throttle body. It was really annoying as well as an expensive part to replace. I never did though because I was broke as H$LL at the time. So, when my car would cut off on me while I was driving, I would just press the clutch in and release it so the car would start back up. It was really bad when the air conditioner was on! Did your G Idol funny while this was happening? Mine did. Hope this was helpful.

So your car died whenever you laughed?

AEM makes a short ram for your cars I think.

I also have the AEM; no problems at all... Very good high RPM breathing; big difference for sure!

Never had a problem with my AEM CAI and it's been there for 16000 miles; it really helps high end power and I had a good hiway MPG increase from day one of the install...
