Thumbs up Enterprise Rental Car

I'm probably going to get "fined" for this, posting something like this up in the coupe forum, but I posted it in Hawaii where the coupe practically makes up 95% of all G35s on the road. Anyway, I wanted to share this rental car experience with you, should you ever need one. Also, don't ever buy or deal w/ Dell - it should be renamed "Hell Computers."

Peace.

Okay, I know, this ain't a Nissan forum but I remember reading a thread a while back about where you guys take your Gs in for service, so I thought I'd share this one.

FYI, I drive a Nissan (and soon, a G coupe) and take it in to New City Nissan. (BTW, I read that some of you take it to Tony Nissan - what are you f----ng crazy? Their prices are 2x what New City charges for the same exact thing! And still you get no courtesy car!) Anyway, I take my car in to the shop for repairs, which they said was supposed to be about 2 days. Anyway, since New City doesn't offer loaners, I had to rent one from Enterprise Rental Car (across the street, by HNL Ford).

So I go to Enterprise and am told that they'll have a car ready for pickup between 30-60 mins. $32/day (the New City discounted rate) for a Sentra and about $25 for optional insurance & liab. They were very nice and very courteous and explained that they always have cars available and that this was highly unusual. Anyway, the 3 people ahead of me all get their cars and after 2 hours, I still don't have mine.

So I wait around another 30 mins.

And by this time I’m fuming that they don't have any cars available, that I calmly explained to them my frustration and that renting a car for 1/2 day would be a waste. I called New City and told them to cancel the optional part of the servicing so that I could get my car in the afternoon rather than the next morning.

When I went back to the front desk, I told Enterprise to forget the whole thing and they were like, "Oh, wait! Your car came in" and I said that I didn't want it. I told them that of the several other rental chains I dealt w/ here and in Calif., even during the busy travel season, I’ve never had it this inconvenient before and that I expected something a little bit better my first time dealing w/ them. I even said that if they told me upfront that it would take 2.5 hours to get a car, that would've been ok, cuz at least they were straightforward about it and could've planned accordingly.

They felt really bad and started apologizing profusely. So the lady (I’m assuming she's one of the managers) said, "No, please, take the car. We’ll comp the whole thing for you." I was pretty shocked, and she continued saying that they wanted me to have a positive impression of Enterprise. They said they didn't want me to have to worry about the insurance (it's covered under my credit card and auto policy) and threw in full CDW and liability, and said to not worry about the gas (it was full) and to keep it as long as my Nissan was in the shop. So, I had free use of a Civic, free gas and free insurance.

I just returned the car at 5p today, and they were still apologetic, asking if this helped my “ruined” day (yesterday) and if everything was okay. I was starting to feel guilty.

For the record, I was NOT looking to get a free rental car and I wasn’t yelling at them or anything when I told them I didn’t want the car. But I wanted to share this tidbit with you of how awesome the customer service experience was at Enterprise Rental Car.

Of all the companies that gloat about how good their customer service is or how awesome their products are, some are downright failures.

As a side note: If any of you are Dell computer owners, be very careful when buying something or returning something, because the sales rep will make all these promises to you and will conveniently “forget” them when it comes time to deliver. (My lemon of a laptop Inspiron 8500 was so badly manufactured, they offered to discount my $175 extended warranty by $75 – they even put it in an email – then they reneged on it completely and don’t even bother returning phone calls or email.)

Then there are the companies that promise and go way over the top for delivering. GEICO customer service is one, and Enterprise is the other.

I don't really do endorsements, but if any of you ever need a rental car, please see Enterprise. Their customer service is truly unreal!

BASE ACURA TLX NOW WANT A G35 AGAIN THOUGH
I've always had very good service with Enterprise.
Even when my old G was at the body shop, i told them I wanted something similiar and no compacts or small cars. I've worked in the car rental business before and the way it works is that if it's a shop deal/insurance deal...even though they tell you $30.00 a day will get you a compact, that's all B.S. I was given the choice of a Benz, BMW 3 series, and a JAGUAR X TYPE. I wanted the BMW but it wasn't available till the next day. They said if it came back later that afternoon, I can exchange it. So I took the X-Type what the hell.

I did the same thing when my 02 TL-S was in the shop for a month and a half for trany replacement, common problem. Didn't lke the XL-7 they gave me, so I took a new JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE fully loaded.

All in all it just depends on the service rep that you deal with. Be nice to them, give them good remarks, and they'll take care of you.

They know that if you come from a nice a** ride like our G's, they won't stick you with a COROLLA or something on that scale.

I'm gonna have to say that Enterprise is good on my list too...I dont post much...so when I do, I usually mean it or I wanna be heard...I'm actually driving an Enterprise car as we speak...my G's been in the shop for awhile now and I got a phone call yesterday from Enterprise saying that Saturday is my last day with the car for being covered under insurance, I was like WTH?!? Thats awesome cause I've been driving this rental car so long now I literally forgot when to take it back lol and It's just weird to me to have a company call you and remind you like this and I didnt even ask for them to remind me. But I'm sure its because they prolly need cars back to loan out but still I was surprised, cause I was actually thinkin of returning it next week, which I'm sure would have added additional charges. So right there Enterprise saved me money...So yea I wouldnt have a problem renting from them in the future.

btw, walked in and drove out in less then 20 min when I went to pick up my car, so I didnt have any issues with delays or anything...I'm sure they didnt forget about you man, I know if I had a customer waiting that long I'd be a lil worried...so I'm sure they got caught up with some other mess that pushed you back which I'm sure it wasnt intentional...at least they shouldve told you what was going on, but at least they had the capability to make up for it, which alot of companies have a hard time doing.

Yea well I am not so happy. After waiting all day, they put my wife in a Hyundai Elantra as the only car they had. Then when I asked them to pick her up at work, (I mean that is their damn slogan right?) they lady told me that she was a one man operation and that was not possible. As I told her to forget it, that I was using someone else, she quickly decided that she would try to make an arrangement.

She did get another location to pick my wife up. Today I called back because we were supposed to have a full size car and she hadn't even been looking for one. She did have one so she was going to give it to us, but she wouldn't send someone to trade it with the crappy Hyundai that we already have. She said unless there is something wrong with the car or it is unsafe then they can't do that. I told her it was a Hyundai and that in itself was unsafe, so they should bring us the other car, an Altima.

Anyway my wife went and got it herself.

Not too bad, just not as happy as I should be with a company.
