05 Vette C6 MT vs 05 G35 Coupe 6MT

Of course the G is faster than a mini-van, but you don't see mini-vans raved about in the car mags for being "so much fun to drive"... Considering the reviews I had read I guess I just hoped for a little more of an adrenaline producing driving experience...
The car looks incredible, but i won't consider it to be "thrilling" until it has a pair of turbos under the hood... period.

m3 > c6 > g35 > my older Toyota corolla

Basically if its a weekend car i would say go witht he C6, but hey who turns M3's into supercars, that's why im doing it
This is my car not stock but its "stock" compared to what's being done..All 3 cars are sick, but it depends on what you want to do witht he cars, once again! Track, everyday, weekend its a decision you have to make!

I still cant believe this comparison going on between a C6 Vette and a G35. Huge price difference there.
And if you are getting a new vette, I would reccomend waiting for the 505hp Z06. That sucker will get you from 0-60 in 3.7 seconds

Beauty and the Beast!
Hey Everyone!
New member here and I happen to have and love both but I have to say they are two totally different cars.I have an 03 DG coupe with 15,000 miles and so far it has been the best car I've ever owned including the service experience at my local Infiniti dealership. It's a very smooth, refined car with enough power to satisfy most and even has a back seat. The body shape and style to me is just pure class and the exhaust note is music! This is Beauty!
Now let's talk about the "Beast". In Nov.of last year I went looking at Vettes and though I tried really hard to like the new C6 body style I just couldn't.Like the interiors, like the new ammenities, like the LS2 engine but the love for the new body just wasn't there. While I was at the dealership checking out the C6 I looked over a few cars and it was love at first sight! A new 04 C5 Commemorative Edition ZO6(the best of the best).LeMans blue with stripes,LS6 405HP manual 6 spd and after test driving I was hooked. This car is an adrenaline rush with neck snapping power.I had never driven anything like it!American muscle V8 with 405HP/400ft.lb torque in a car that weighs 3,150 lbs.I have almost 2800 miles on it and so far no problems. I guess the bottom line is what suits your style.I don't have the nice quite ride,sunroof,6 disc CD player,SAT radio or even a spare tire in the Z06 that I have in the G.Two totally different animals! I will say that my new motto is "Life's too short not to have a ZO6" lol!but I will always love my G for what it is!Here are a couple of pics of my two babies. Mike

100% stock motor, purs around town like a kitten and makes an easy 640rwhp... Gotta love those cheap domestics!
Actually, my first "fast car" was a true cheap domestic -- a 1994, 275hp 6-speed Camaro -- and as a matter of fact it was almost identical to the G in terms of acceleration (low 14s in the 1/4 mile, high 5s for 0-60)... Not content with that either, I built it into a 850+ hp monster...

here it is running 9.57 @ 143:

All I can say is that if you consider 14s to be fast, you haven't ever been in a fast car (of course it's all relative, my cars are dog slow compared to my buddy's 1400hp turbo mustang, there's always someone thats faster!!)... but honestly, if that's the case, count yourself lucky, speed is a horrible addiction to acquire, each "fix" grows more expensive and lasts for a shorter amount of time until it too feels "slow"...
Finally, as far as the break-in -- LOL... I don't subscribe to that wives tale, nor does any reputable machinist that I've ever spoken with... full throttle on the first drive home for me

But enough of the pissing match, my only point before and now is that there is a HUGE difference between a high 12 second car and a low 14 second car, if you put a high priority on acceleration and the occasional "street brawl", the Vette will much better suit your needs in stock trim...
