05 Vette C6 MT vs 05 G35 Coupe 6MT
Alot depends on what you want in a car. Do you want a sports car or a GT? I like a little luxury with my speed. With the G35, you can mod it to different degrees...from just a Z-tube to a 9 psi Vortech puttin down 400 rwhp. You can even keep your suspension stock or mod it to the point that it doesn't remotely resemble anything stock. You can tune it harder or leave it alone, but there is a limit due to weight. With the Corvette, it is sport's car 24/7/365, and it makes no apologies. It picks up a few notches above where moderately modded G35Cs leave off. My advice is to drive a stock G35 and then a modded G35 (FI and coilovers if possible) and then the Corvette. There will be different performance offerings from these three vehicles. Pay very close attention not only to acceleration, but also to ride quality and handling. Also make a list of what luxury features you can't live without. For me in Chicago, I had to have heated seats and mirrors, but the 6 in-dash player, room for 4, climate control and sunroof is nice to have. Also, remember the '05 Coupe adds things like memory seats, power telescoping wheel, smartkey, lighted steering wheel controls, and MP3 capability. This will make your choice easier.

I don't know?? What are the odds??
Sup fellas, new to this forum and just had to jump in here. Picked up my 05 DG 6mt last Wednesday. 980 miles of smiles already. All I can say is wow. What a car! This thing is a blast to drive. But so is my Blk 99 C5 Vette. The Vette has 44,300 miles on it and I have not had a problem yet. Still dry as a bone on her belly and gets 26 miles to the gallon on the highway, 20 in town. I bought the G to drive every day though 'cause the vette would not make a practical DD for me. For neck snapping torque there is no better bang for the buck, and a vette still turns heads everywhere, remember "A vette get's em wet" For state of the art, refined performace I love the G. As far as dependability is concerned I think it's luck of the draw. I just returned from the Infiniti dealership this morning 'cause my speedo quit on me Sat. night and the ABS, Slip, VDC, and SES lights came on ,yet the car still drove fine otherwise. I just had no idea how fast I was going. Sunday morning everything was fine except for the SES light. It happened a few more times before I got it to the dealership today. They say the computer will have to replaced. A new one will be here Monday. There is apparently a problem with CAN communication in the computer. I still love this car despite this glitch and I am still driving it. Now I just have to find enough scratch to slap on some Super Rozza's. Just my $.02. Peace

Most importantly, the C6's navigation system is a touchscreenn. VASTLY superior to the cheap joystick system in the G35. Do you mean to tell me you actually prefer a joystick to a touchscreen?!?
In my mind I associate american muscle cars with things like NASCAR and mullets.
Ive owned American cars before, but probably will never again because they just havent been as reliable or as long lasting as the imports Ive driven.
I think our Gs are much more refined and less common than the vette. I stand by that statement.

I live in the frozen tundra of Wisconsin and I see a dozen guys in their 40's and 50's driving vettes everyday. I very rarely see a G.
In south jersey vettes are a dime a dozen with the summer season upon us. I have seen one other G35 coupe besides mine.
New vettes in the area run between 52k and 55k. That's how the largest vette dealer in the world (Kerbeck) orders them anyway.
I had a C5 coupe that I got rid of when I bought my G. I have the MT6 so I have the stiffer suspension and 19" wheels. The G rides much smoother than my C5. There is no comparison. I travel the same roadways to work as I did and the vette beat the sheet out of me.
When it comes to power there is no comparison also. The vette is the winner hands down, not even close. That's the only thing I really miss owning the G is the lack of power. Thank goodness I have a Hayabusa as a toy. It takes care of my speed fix.

well, I was the one who had C6 for 5 months(I think you can find the picture of my C6 in this forum if you search my username) and just got rid of it under lemon law. it was just nightmare with that car. first day, coming back from the dealer, fuel gauge dies. dealer couldn't figure it out for 2 weeks, then fuel pump went out so I got stuck on the fwy, then power seat, Navigation, stereo, power window, etc, etc, etc, well you get the picture. But Like what zo6fied said, C6 had softer suspension and it was blast to drive. I loved the raw American power. I like the interior compare to G35 also, it was more sporty. but for the price, and problems that this car had, I couldn't see myself driving this car for long time. it spend half of the time in the dealer. so I got my money back from Chevy and bought a 06 GS430. I know thats a big change from a sports car to a 4 door. But I'm happy with the GS430 since I have G35 with few mods
as a fun car.
as a fun car.
If money is not an issue, neither was maintenance cost, I'de recommend the M3. I'de also tick the competition package (I think? adds the forged wheels etc.) The motor on the vette is pretty reliable. If money is not an option, you buy the 2006 Z06 or a 997 carrera...wow i just jumped from my 34,000 G to a 80,000 dollar car but who cares? It's all opinion anyways.
