My old G key fob work for a good 200 ft in most residential areas, but in certain congested areas like Downtown San Francisco usually about 50 ft. Twin Peaks in SF, (radio and TV towers nearby) I literally had to walk to the front/drivers side of the car and push the key fob onto the body panel and keep presiing until it unlocked.
Alot of it is based on how much radio interference and obstacles are around you. That being said...they still are pretty weak.

 

F.O.B. = Fresh Of the Boat. A derogative word to describe newly immagrated asians in America. Fobs annoy me... if you're asian, you shouldnt have blond hair to match your yellow sneakers!

Actually, FOB also stands for 'free on board' - a term dealing with who pays shipping or tariff costs on shipped goods.

 

lol exactly! thats the only thing i ever remember FOB standing for lol...

but i guess a key fob is actually just a keychain...
dissappointment slowly sets in...

 

Tested mine out in a large parking lot yesterday- I could make the lights flash from 275 feet away (only 25 feet shy of the length of a football field).
